Artisan Rina R. Sterling has been designing and making handcrafted jewelry for almost a decade, weaving semi-precious gemstones and decorative pieces with precious metals of silver and gold. Each creation in the collection of Rina R reflects color and light and is also a reflection of the artist's ability to blend organic materials into a joyful expression of her own being. Ms. Sterling was introduced to color and technique at an early age when she was enrolled in classes with renowned artist and teacher Joyce Straus. "This early exposure to color, texture and design, introduced me to an artist's world without boundaries and set me on an artistic path of expression and exploration," said Ms. Sterling. Her eclectic style is inspired by history, nature, world culture and ethnicity. Ms. Sterling received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Fine Arts. She studied jewelry design in San Francisco and has a teaching degree with a fine arts emphasis. Until recently the creations in Ms. Sterling's collection could only be purchased at art festivals and private jewelry shows.
